Scotchman Supports Buying and Hiring American

Posted by Scotchman Industries on Feb 14, 2017 10:24:39 AM

Products made in America are at the forefront of the news right now.

Regardless of your political leanings, those of us in the manufacturing industry have President Donald Trump to thank for pushing the issue into the limelight. His campaign promised two economic goals: buying American and hiring American

This aligns deeply with Scotchman’s standards. We’re an American-Made facility — and we’re proud to announce a new partnership with Made in America Co. to further cement those values.

Stimulating Our Economy

The Made in America Co. is a “nonpartisan organization that focuses on encouraging others to buy American-Made.” The group believes buying American made products increases the quality of the items you’ll receive and stimulates the economy here at home.

We’ve been proudly standing behind this sentiment for 50 years, manufacturing metal fabrication tools in the small western South Dakota town of Philip. Our factory employs about 80 local residents, with a network of more than 500 distributors nationwide.

We know it’s important to keep as many jobs in the United States as possible, and we strive to keep those positions within our home state of South Dakota.

Organizations in the Made in America Co. cohort don’t just include manufacturers like ourselves. Speciality knife and firearm retailers, artisan food stores, and even organic soap makers are boosting their local economies. We found our involvement to be a perfect fit.

Our ironworkers are American-made for customers both in the United States and across the globe. A recent study shows that $1.80 is added to the economy for every $1 spent in American manufacturing, and we’re so proud to produce metal working tools that further this important movement.

Buy American Made

When you buy a Scotchman machine -- whether it's a cold saw or an ironworker -- you have peace of mind knowing it's supporting an American company that's supporting the community.

We'd love to have your help promoting the future of manufacturing in this great country.
